Nikola Jokic has made a huge impact for our Denver Nuggets ever since he came back from injury on December 7th, putting up huge numbers in the stat line and helping our Nuggets get on a three game winning streak.

Oh Joker. Big Honey. Niko. How much we’ve missed your games. Ever since Jokic came back from a three game absence, he has been terrific for our Nuggets. He has literally, done it all. Score, pass, rebound, defend, run the floor… Look it up, and Jokic has done it. What makes this guy so great?

For starters, let’s just say that the Nuggets have been struggling lately, getting beat by teams that they were supposed to defeat and not being able to close out games. Jokic has demonstrated that he will be a future star. Say what you wanna say about the kid, but he can play REAL good.

Ever since Jokic came back, the Nuggets have gone 4-3, with him averaging 17.4 points per game, 9.6 rebounds per game and 4.7 assists per game with only 25.4 minutes per game. If you ask me, these are impressive numbers for a sophomore center.

There is no doubt, that the Nuggets need Jokic on the floor because he makes everybody around him better. Putting no-look passes, back door passes and even alley-oops the way he does is no easy tasks.

The most impressive game so far? This past game against the Dallas Mavericks, where he almost put up a triple double with 27 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists. But, even after all that, if you ask Coach Malone about the most impressive stat of all night, he will say (and I quote): “He had only 1 foul”.

Jokic was struggling with fouls, getting five of them in the first two of his previous three games. But last night, he contained himself and made life so much more easy for the other guys. Gary Harris had a huge night. So did Emmanuel Mudiay. To be honest, every Nugget had a terrific night.

What’s to expect? That Coach Malone will do the right thing and will keep running the offense through Jokic. He has an amazing court vision and a pretty good post up game, adding to that a decent jump shot. The guy is legit. And if the Nuggets can keep up with this kind of pace, being healthy and all, they sure can be a lot better.

Nuggets, let’s go for that fourth win!
