Stan Van Gundy rips Detroit Pistons and team meetings, vows new lineup

Detroit Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy is sick of seeing his team get embarrassed, as it was Monday night in a 113-82 loss to the Chicago Bulls.

And he isn't holding back about it.

"It was a disgusting performance by all of us, me included. It was unprofessional, embarrassing, humiliating, whatever you want to say,” Van Gundy vented to reporters afterward.

The Bulls jumped out to a 16-point first-quarter lead, pushed it to 35 by halftime, then coasted to the easy win. It was the third straight loss by the Pistons, following lackluster showings against the Washington Wizards and Indiana Pacers.

So what's the answer going forward? Not more "team meetings," that's for sure. The Pistons held a one after Saturday's loss to the Pacers, and Van Gundy wasn't impressed with the results.

“Team meeting my ass. Like I said before, that stuff means nothing. It’s what you do on the court. Talking’s easy.”

He did have one possible solution, though: A lineup change -- which the coach says is coming for Wednesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

“It’s just a matter of who now. I guarantee you on Wednesday night we’re not trotting that five out there again,” Van Gundy promised.

Stay tuned.
