Report: Warriors add Ben Gordon to training camp roster
The defending champion Golden State Warriors don't have many holes on their roster. That's why, you know, they just won the NBA championship.
But chief among their minor weaknesses is a reliable bench shooter. Outside of Leandro Barbosa (38.4 percent) and Andre Iguodala (34.9), the Warriors' bench lacks 3-point shooting, and the team has decided to address it in training camp.
As a result, the team recently signed sharpshooter Ben Gordon -- a career 40.1 percent shooter from downtown -- to a non-guaranteed training camp, according to ESPN.
The hope is that Gordon will push James Michael McAdoo, Chris Babb, Ian Clark, and Jarrell Eddie for one of the final two roster spots.
The 32-year-old has played 11 seasons with the Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Bobcats (now Hornets) and Orlando Magic. Gordon, who won the Sixth Man of the Year award with the Bulls in 2004-05, shot 36.1 percent on 3-pointers for the Magic last season.
The Warriors have 13 players under guaranteed contracts.
