Report: Pacers' Paul George to attend Team USA camp meeting, won't play

He's repeatedly said that he wants to play in the 2016 Olympics. Larry Bird reportedly supports him. And Indiana Pacers forward Paul George is taking the necessary steps to secure a spot on the Team USA roster.
According to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports, George will attend the minicamp that USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo has called mandatory for any player who wishes to play for Team USA. But George won't play:
It's a safe decision for George. He looks healthy, as he demonstrated with several highlight-worthy dunks while he was overseas on tour. But he's also probably a lock to make the team, and there's no need to put any undue stress on his leg quite yet. Perhaps it's a bit overcautious. But with everything on the line, that's not a bad thing.
