Report: 'Not a robust market' for Dwyane Wade in free agency

Published Jun. 30, 2015 2:15 p.m. ET

It looks like Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade could find that the grass isn't always greener on the free agency market -- and neither is the cash.

With Wade set to become a free agent when the clock ticks over from Tuesday to Wednesday, the pressure is on Pat Riley and the Heat front office to work out some kind of deal with the quintessential Heat Lifer. But Riley and his staff might find their efforts aided by a soft market for Wade's services, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard:

All it takes is one team, though, to offer Wade more money than Miami is comfortable with, and things could get very tricky. On the other hand, teams have shown for the most part that they don't want to do anything that would affect their ability to have maximum cap space next summer, when free agents such as Kevin Durant will be available.

So Wade might find out that the best place he could be is where he was all along. The clock starts ticking in just a few short hours.
