Melvin Ejim had a heck of a career at Iowa State. Now, he might get to use that tenure as a way to springboard into the NBA.

From Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel:

Ejim played this past season in Italy. He was a four-year player for now-Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg at ISU, finishing his career during the 2013-14 season. He averaged 17.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game as a senior.

The Magic are looking to add Melvin Ejim to its training-camp roster, providing the 6-foot-6 guard-forward can part contractually from his team in Germany, according to league sources.

Ejim, 24, has played overseas since not being selected in the 2014 NBA draft.

A former Big 12 Player of the Year at Iowa State, Ejim was impressive playing for the Magic’s White team in their Summer League last month.

He signed with Medi Bayreuth of Germany recently.
