Report: Hibbert has until June 29 to decide on player option

The deadline for Roy Hibbert to make a decision on next season is fast approaching, Scott Agness of Vigilant Sports reports.
Hibbert, who has a player option for 2015-16 reportedly for $15.5 million, must opt in by June 29. That same deadline holds for David West, who holds a reported $12 million player option.
According to Agness, Hibbert's agent, David Falk, would not comment on Hibbert's potential pending free agency: "We are not discussing this publicly. We will inform the Pacers first when a decision is made," Falk wrote in an email.
If Hibbert chooses to wait to make a decision until the day of the deadline, it could affect Indiana's plans for the draft. This year's draft is on June 25; whether to take a big man with the No. 11 pick becomes a lot clearer if the Pacers know what Hibbert is going to do by then. Larry Bird and the Indiana front office have made it clear that they'd like for the team to play faster next season, and that's not Hibbert's style. However, the Pacers' offense has never been dependent on what Hibbert can or can't do; his impact is on the other end. Even then, he could struggle to get back in transition as Indiana creates more (and faster) possessions for both teams.
