Phil Jackson offers Twitter newbie Doc Rivers some important words of advice
Phil Jackson once fell victim to the unblinking glare of the social media. Now he's trying to prevent Doc Rivers from making the same mistake.
Back in May during last season's playoffs, the Knicks president made a glaring typo during a critique that became the symbol of those who didn't believe in jump-shooting teams:
"How's it goink" has since become a joke in social media circles. (And of course, most of the teams who made the playoffs, including conference finalists Warriors, Rockets, Hawks and Cavaliers, were 3-point reliant.)
So, when Clippers coach Rivers joined Twitter this week — apparently at the request of the Zen Master himself — Jackson returned the favor in kind with this friendly but essential warning:
@DocRivers Yeah,Doc, just don't ask your followers: "how's it goink"...you'll get an ear/eye full that you might not want or need. :-

Lessons learned all around. Well done.
