Pacers recruited Chase Budinger with custom magazine as free agent
The newest member of the Indiana Pacers has been on Indiana's radar for a number of years, it would seem.
Chase Budinger was acquired by the Pacers in a trade over the weekend, but the team reportedly pitched Budinger on coming to Indiana in 2012, according to Vigilant Sports' Scott Agness. And that pitch came with a pretty cool little trinket: a personalized mock-up of an ESPN the Magazine issue dedicated to Budinger.
Agness reports that the Pacers did the same thing with Chris Copeland when he signed with the team and gave Budinger the treatment the year before. Given that Copeland signed with Indiana in 2013 and Budinger was a free agent in 2012 -- and with the wear and tear on the pictured magazine -- 2012 seems like a safe bet for the "birthday" of this magazine.
