Magic's Devyn Marble helps local youth in Orlando get healthy

Summertime! It's that magical time of year where school's out, the weather is fine and NBA players are out in the community to give back to the people who support them. On Tuesday, Orlando Magic guard Devyn Marble joined roughly 80 local Orlando kids at the Silver Star Community Park to talk about the importance of staying fit, to lead the kids in some exercise activities, and of course to play a little basketball:
"I just have a thing for kids and trying to help them learn different ways to have fun and compete," Marble told the Magic's team site. "This is a good event that the Magic are throwing to promote health and fitness early on (in kids’ lives) so that as they keep growing they will develop good habits with eating and exercising."
Marble admitted that after completing his rookie season, he still feels like a kid who gets to play basketball for a living, and that informs the way he handles himself and the message he tries to convey. "I know that the eyes are different looking at me now and I make sure to make smart decisions," he said. "And I want to show these kids support because they are the same ones who watch our games. This is my way of showing my support for them."
The Magic have a great young core that could do big things in a few years. But more than that, it seems that they have guys who "get it" off of the court, too. Orlando's players are some of the most active in their community across the NBA. And Marble is a big part of that.
