Grading Detroit's start to the season

The Detroit Pistons came out hot and took the league by storm, but they've slowed down as of late.

At the quarter pole, the Pistons are 12-11. If the playoffs started today, they'd be on the outside looking in.

Still, there's a lot of positives to take away from Detroit's start. Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson have played like All-Star talents, and the Pistons have beaten some good teams despite not having their full roster intact.

Here's a breakdown from Adam Fromal of Bleacher Report and his grade for the Pistons so far this season:

"But the rest of the Pistons aren't playing at nearly the same level. With Brandon Jennings (Achilles) yet to debut and Jodie Meeks rehabbing his surgically repaired right foot, there's not enough depth in the Motor City to help out Drummond and the remaining members of the starting five.

The eventual returns of Jennings and Meeks should help, but it's already clear the hot start was a bit misleading. This is a middling team with the potential to be more, though that potential has yet to be realized in 2015-16.

Grade: B"
