Even with new roster, Blazers won't change defensive scheme

The Portland Trail Blazers went through a massive roster overhaul this offseason, losing every member of their starting lineup except for Damian Lillard.

Even with all the changes and added youth and athleticism, it doesn't like Portland is going to change a whole lot schematically on the defensive end.

Here's what Blazers head coach Terry Stotts told Mike Richman of The Oregonian:

The injection of athletes will no doubt provide a different feel, but don't look for a complete overhaul on the defensive side of the ball even with a roster more suited to chase and trap on the perimeter.

"Even though our bigs and our wings are a little more athletic, I don't see us getting out and pressuring," Blazers coach Terry Stotts said at summer league in Las Vegas on Friday. "I don't think that's a formula for necessarily good defensive teams. I think we established a good foundation."
