Dennis Rodman's former teammate thinks Rodman could be great coach

Former NBA player John Salley knows coaching. He played for Chuck Daly with the Pistons. He had a brief stint playing for Phil Jackson with the Bulls in the mid-'90s. And now, he's endorsing a former teammate for coach: Dennis Rodman.

Rodman started a campaign for the Knicks job after his former coach with the Bulls and current Knicks team president Jackson fired Derek Fisher on Monday. Shortly after, he penned this tweet declaring his candidacy:

He also spoke about it on television.

And now, his former teammate with the Bulls and Pistons, Salley, is apparently on the bandwagon.

Here's the transcript in case you can't watch:

TMZ: Dennis Rodman has offered up his services.

Salley: Yeah, I bet.

TMZ: What do you think about that? Do you think he can handle the job?

Salley: I really do. I think Dennis would be a really good coach.

TMZ: You think so?

Salley: Yeah. Could you imagine Dennis Rodman as a defensive coordinator on basketball?

Now, that is some sage advice from a man who once played for Whoopi Goldberg.
