The Brooklyn Nets signed both Randy Foye and Jeremy Lin this offseason. The two veteran guards give the Nets experience in the backcourt, and Foye is excited about playing with Lin.

Brooklyn Nets’ fans are not the only people excited about the prospect of Jeremy Lin in Brooklyn. Lin’s new teammate, Randy Foye, spoke to SiriusXM NBA Radio about the Nets’ new starting point guard, and said he expects big things.

“We have been playing in the backcourt for at least three weeks now, and he’s just been amazing,” Foye said of Lin. “Like, I think he’s going to shock a lot of people too. Because his work ethic is unbelievable.”

Foye said Lin’s impact on the Nets goes beyond just what he does on the court. “What people don’t see, is the little things, you know? Getting guys together, taking them out to eat. And that carries over into a game. And that’s what Jeremy’s been doing, that’s what I’ve been trying to do, [just] trying to make it a family atmosphere.”

Foye said the bonds that the Nets are forming off the court should pay off once they’re on the court together in meaningful games. “If someone, one of your teammates is down, they know that you’re right there to pick them up. It carries over to the court. If they miss an assignment and someone drives baseline, you’ll be right there to help them. Or if they get beat, they know that their teammate is going to be right there, or vice versa.”

Foye and Lin are a few of the veterans the Nets signed, but there are others as well. Trevor Booker, Luis Scola and Greivis Vasquez will all play meaningful minutes as well. Brooklyn has a few young players that are just breaking into the NBA, so the fact that Brooklyn has many veterans for their younger players to lean on is beneficial.

It’s clear that Lin and Foye are putting in the effort to form bonds with their new teammates. Not only will this create chemistry, but it shows that the veterans guards have taken on leadership roles for the Brooklyn Nets, as well.
