Brandon Jennings likely out until late December

Published Sep. 14, 2015 6:15 p.m. ET

Detroit Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings is still recovering from a torn Achilles suffered last season in January, and it sounds like he can be safely ruled out for the start of the season.

In an interview with Detroit Sports 105.1, Pistons president and head coach Stan Van Gundy had this to say about Jennings' availability for next year:

"We don’t know where Brandon is going to be health-wise. Right now, he’s still recovering. We’re probably looking at mid- to late-December to have him back."

The Pistons extended point guard Reggie Jackson to a max contract this offseason.
