Boston Celtics cut three players from their roster

On Tuesday, the Boston Celtics waived three players: Levi Randolph, Coty Clarke and Malcolm Miller. All were on non-guaranteed training camp contracts, and none were expected to make the team.

But their stay with the Celtics organization may not be over just yet. Here's ESPN Boston's Chris Forsberg with more:

Boston still has 16 guaranteed contracts on their books, and need to shed at least one of them before opening night to field a legal roster. Perry Jones would appear to be the odd man out, but nothing is final until the Celtics make their official decision.

The trio could remain within the Celtics' organization if they accept assignments to the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League. A fourth camp invite -- Corey Walden -- remains on the roster as Boston closes out its exhibition slate with a back-to-back later this week.
