Rain postpones Truck Series race to set up Sunday doubleheader

Published Mar. 29, 2014 4:20 p.m. ET

NASCAR's mighty Air Titan 2.0 tried, but the weather won.

Despite a valiant attempt by the sophisticated track-drying machine, rain forced the postponement of Saturday's Kroger 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway.

The race will be held at approximately 5:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, immediately following the running of Sunday's STP 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. It will be televised live on FOX Sports 1.

In addition to the postponement of the Truck Series race, rain forced the cancellation of Truck Series qualifying and Saturday's two Sprint Cup Series practices at the .526-mile short track.

Kyle Busch Motorsports driver Darrell Wallace Jr. will start the Truck Series race from the pole, having earned the top spot by virtue of posting the fastest speed in Friday's Truck Series practices.
