Detroit Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera has hit three home runs in a game for the second time in his career.

The 2012 AL Triple Crown winner hit a three-run homer in the third inning and a solo shot in the fifth against Texas left-hander Derek Holland on Sunday night. He went deep again with nobody on base in the eighth inning against Rangers reliever Tanner Scheppers.

Cabrera, who leads the AL in average and RBIs, also had a single. He was walked intentionally in the sixth inning even though the Tigers already had runners at first and second.

Cabrera hit three homers on May 28, 2010, at home against Oakland. He has 11 this year, one off the AL lead.
