Report: Former Tide RB Kerry Goode diagnosed with ALS

Coming off a tough loss, the Alabama football program was hit with a heavy dose of perspective Tuesday as former running back Kerry Goode announced his diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as ALS, according to AL.com.

Goode played for Alabama from 1983-1987 and unfortunately is now the second Alabama player from that era to have been diagnosed with ALS, joining running back Kevin Turner -- who was diagnosed in 2010. 

In his college career, Goode accumulated 1,350 yards rushing and six touchdowns, 30 catches for 222 yards and a score and a kickoff return for a touchdown. Goode was a seventh-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 1988 NFL Draft.
