A top ten list of college fight songs surfaced on AL.com Friday morning. Some people are taking issue with the fact that the victory song for the Alabama Crimson Tide was not ranked higher.
In Alabama, we are used to being ranked near the top when it comes to sports. Crimson Tide fans are not only annoyed that ‘Yea, Alabama! is not first – but that Tennessee’s ‘Rocky Top’ is number one. The Bama faithful would probably rank ‘Rocky Top’ first in a list of “Most Annoying Fight Songs”, but certainly not the BEST.
Here is the complete list, which can also be found via slideshow at AL.com.
10. “Boomer Sooner” ~ University of Oklahoma
9. “Buckeye Battlecry” ~ The Ohio State University
8. “Texas Fight” ~ University of Texas
7. “Fight On” ~ University of Southern California
6. “The Aggie War Hymn” ~ Texas A&M University
5. “The Victors” ~ University of Michigan
4. “Ramblin’ Wreck” ~ Georgia Tech
3. “Yea, Alabama!” ~ University of Alabama
2. “Victory March” ~ University of Notre Dame
1. “Rocky Top” ~ University of Tennessee
So what do you think, Crimson Tide fans? Is the list accurate, or should it be tweaked a little? Are there fight songs you would remove, or others you would add to the list?
