Sean Payton says Drew Brees is 'fine' after Saints' win over Cowboys

After suffering a bruised rotator cuff in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Drew Brees was back in action against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4. Fortunately, Sean Payton says his QB came out of the incredible overtime victory feeling just fine, according to Joel A. Erickson of The New Orleans Advocate.

“I think aside from your normal soreness after a game, I think (Brees is) fine,” Saints head coach Sean Payton told The New Orleans Advocate.

While Brees threw his fair share of shorter passes during the victory, he did more than just get the job done. Brees completed 33-of-41 passes for 359 yards and two touchdowns, including the 80-yard overtime touchdown that sealed the victory for the Saints.

Brees will likely use the beginning of the week to let his shoulder rest just a bit before getting back to work in the attempt to lead New Orleans to their second victory of the season.
