NEW YORK — Kevin Durant will be wearing one of the wilder versions of his signature sneaker that Nike has ever created when he laces up the KD8 Elite model for his run through the NBA playoffs.

The KD9 was unveiled at a massive media event in New York on Wednesday, and features the company’s popular Flyknit technology on the upper of one of Durant’s shoes for the very first time. An all-new full-length Zoom Air unit which was three years in the making provides cushioning and support, and the sole’s design helps maximize natural transitions, while making this model one of the most flexible yet.
Nike designer Leo Chang introduced the model, and went through specifically what makes it so perfect for Durant’s game. The KD 9 releases on June 20 at a reported price of $150.
