There are all kinds of rumblings that this will be Kobe Bryant’s last season with the Los Angeles Lakers. And if that ends up being true, could the future Hall of Famer end up in Spain — alongside Pau Gasol?

Probably not. But FC Barcelona is in Los Angeles to take on the Galaxy on Tuesday, and Bryant stopped in at Barcelona’s training session on Monday to take in his favorite football team.

Bryant is such a super-fan of Barca, in fact, that he had to make his way into the team picture. And according to El Periodico (with a tip o’ the hat to Lakers Nation for the translation), Bryant joked that he could end his basketball playing career with Barcelona’s basketball squad:

"The Laker has received the new [team T-shirt] and joked with his limited Spanish he would sign for one year.

"’Bryant has said he is willing to help us in whatever we want and would like to finish his career at the club with Pau Gasol. It is a sign of the projection of the club in the world,’ said Albert Soler, director of professional sports [for] the Catalan club."

Sure, Bryant was probably joking. But can you really be sure? Taking in a little bit of football whenever he wants, enjoying the Mediterranean life, and hanging out with Gasol (assuming he’s down for the idea once he’s done in the NBA, naturally). There are worse post-Laker options for the Black Mamba.
