Dallas Keuchel says he's in good situation now with the Minnesota Twins The former Cy Young Award winner, who is set to start Sunday against Arizona, says he didn’t doubt he’d make it back to the major leagues.

Lined up to start Sunday Keuchel will make his Twins debut in a start Sunday versus the Diamondbacks, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Impact Keuchel could get a long look in the Minnesota rotation as Joe Ryan spends at least a few weeks on the IL while recovering from a lingering groin strain. It's hard to know what to expect from Keuchel as a fantasy streaming option, but the veteran left-hander had pitched to an impressive 1.13 ERA with 28 strikeouts across 32 innings (six starts) for Triple-A St. Paul since inking a minor-league contract with the Twins on June 22.

Selected to MLB roster The Twins selected Keuchel's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Impact Keuchel exercised the opt-out in his minor-league contract with Minnesota on Tuesday, but they suddenly need him as a replacement for Joe Ryan, who has landed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding 26-man roster move because of a groin strain. Keuchel, 35, had registered a stellar 1.13 ERA in 32 innings (six starts) with St. Paul and is back in the majors for the first time since September of 2022.

Opts out of deal Keuchel opted out of his contract with the Twins on Tuesday, Britt Ghiroli of The Athletic reports.

Impact Keuchel signed a minor-league deal with the Twins in late June, and he will now enter the open market after failing to receive a promotion to the majors. The 35-year-old southpaw put up a 1.13 ERA and 1.25 WHIP through 32 innings over six starts with Triple-A St. Paul.

Not opting out Keuchel did not exercise the Friday opt-out in his minor-league contract with the Twins, Darren Wolfson of Channel 5 Saint Paul reports.

Impact There could be a second opt-out date in the deal, but he'll remain part of the Twins organization for the time being. The veteran left-hander has pitched well so far at Triple-A St. Paul, registering a 0.90 ERA and 17:8 K:BB in four starts covering 20 innings. Maybe he'll soon get a look in the Minnesota rotation.

Opt-out date looming Keuchel has the ability to opt out of his minor-league contract with the Twins on Friday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Impact Keuchel has collected a 0.90 ERA with 17 strikeouts over 20 innings since joining the Twins' Triple-A affiliate in St. Paul. The Twins have not yet offered any hints as to whether he could be promoted soon, though. Keuchel, 35, holds a 6.35 ERA at the major-league level over the previous two seasons.

Impact The veteran southpaw has not pitched since Sept. 2, 2022 as a member of the Rangers. He had an effective pandemic year in 2020, but Keuchel sports a 6.35 ERA over 222.2 innings since 2021. It's possible the Twins will turn to him later this summer as a depth starter if he is pitching well in the minors.

Impact Keuchel will report to Triple-A Round Rock after opting for a minor-league deal. He didn't last long on the open market, as he was officially released by Arizona earlier in the day.
