Joe Royer - Quiet in opener Royer accrued three receptions (on five targets) for 11 yards during Thursday's 20-17 loss against Nebraska.
Impact Royer's season got off to a slow start Thursday as he gained just 11 yards in the opener. However, he managed five targets and caught three passes, both of which ranked second on the team. Quarterback Brendan Sorsby struggled versus the tough Nebraska defense, so against easier opponents Sorsby and Royer should be productive.

Cyrus Allen - Leads receivers in opener Allen gathered in 5 of 7 targets for 41 yards during Thursday's 20-17 defeat versus Nebraska.
Impact Despite Brendan Sorsby having a tough day through the air, Allen managed a solid performance given the circumstances. He led the team in receptions, targets and receiving yards. Although the total production wasn't there versus a stout Nebraska defense, his target share is very promising for the rest of the season.

Tawee Walker - Leads rushing attack in opener Walker notched seven rushes for 53 yards and gathered in their only target for negative four yards during Thursday's 20-17 defeat against Nebraska.
Impact Walker did not have many opportunities Thursday, but he still lead the Bearcats' in rushing attempts and yards. He split time primarily with Evan Pryor who rushed five times for 29 yards, and quarterback Brenan Sorsby took up a lot of rushing attempts with 13. It appears that Walker will be the Bearcats' first option at running back, but he will still be splitting time.

Brendan Sorsby - Great on ground in loss Sorsby completed 13 of 25 passes for 69 yards and one interception during Thursday's 20-17 defeat against Nebraska. He also had 13 rushes for 96 yards with two touchdowns.
Impact Sorsby struggled through the air in Thursday's opener, but he gained nearly 100 yards on the ground and scored two rushing touchdowns in the second half. Despite that great rushing line, he completed just over 50 percent of his passes for 69 yards and an interception. He will look to have a much better day through the air Saturday versus Bowling Green.
