Jared Allen dabbles in comedy in interview with 'Parks and Recreation' actor

Published Aug. 6, 2015 1:25 p.m. ET

Many professional athletes have tried to crossover into acting, and many have failed. But not so for Chicago Bears 5-time Pro Bowl defensive end Jared Allen, who showed some impressive comedy chops in this faux-interview with actor/comedian Ben Schwartz.

In this bit, Schwartz, perhaps best known as scene-stealing opportunist Jean-Ralphio Saperstein on "Parks and Recreation," goes off-script as the clueless interviewer while Allen is the straight man tolerating him.

The segment feels like the often-contentious and hilariously awkward "Between Two Ferns" with Zach Galifianakis. And of course, the questions and answers are all made up. Unless what Allen and Schwartz say at the end is true and they are twinsies and getting an apartment together.
