Willie Desjardins to struggling Canucks: 'Get two percent better'

Vancouver Canucks coach Willie Desjardins knows exactly how much his team has to improve by. The Canucks are 2-6-2 in their last 10 games after a strong start to the season, but Desjardins said he does not think the team is far from getting back on track.
"If they get two per cent better, we win those games," Desjardins told reporters of his team. "The league gets better. I think the league has picked up and I don’t know that we’ve picked up quite as much as we need to, to stay with it."
The Canucks have a difficult road ahead as they face Minnesota Wednesday followed by the Stars on Friday. But while the team's offense has been doing okay, the defense and goaltending highlight areas of concern for Vancouver.
That makes a win against the Wild highly important for Vancouver to use as a confidence-builder, because the Stars boast the most productive offense in the league and therefore will be a tough matchup for a team struggling on defense.
