The Big Zamboni! Shaq cuts ice prior to Devils-Panthers game


Usually, a new member of an NHL team's ice crew doesn't make headlines.
But the New Jersey Devils were all abuzz as they welcomed a special addition to the club's staff prior to Saturday's matchup with the Florida Panthers.
Devils fans, your new Zamboni driver: Shaquille O'Neal.
The four-time NBA champion and Newark native paid a special visit to the Prudential Center, where he pressed his size-23 shoe down on the pedal of one of the team's Zambonis.

Shaq was even able to keep his concentration despite one distracting copilot. Man, imagine going cross-country with this guy:
No word on whether or not Shaq will be staying on with the Devils. But if The Big Daddy decides not to hone his ice-cutting skills, at least Devils fans have this monitor message to look forward to:
