Steven Stamkos gives back to young hometown fan (VIDEO)

Steven Stamkos grew up in Markham, Ont., and although he now lives over 1100 miles away while he plays for the Tampa Bay Lightning, the superstar still finds ways to give back to his hometown community. This Christmas season, he helped make a dream come true for a young boy named Ben Carr and Ben's hockey team thanks to help from Sport Chek.
Ben is a hockey player for the town's Markham Waxers, and he spends his free time volunteering in the community. Stamkos, who played for the Waxers when he was younger, rewarded Ben for his good deeds by teaming up with Sport Chek to give Ben a box full of hockey gear and flew Ben down to Tampa to meet Stamkos. The Lightning captain then gifted Ben and his entire team with tickets to Tuesday's Leafs game against the visiting Lightning.
It looks like Stamkos gave Ben one of the best Christmas gifts he has ever received. Perhaps one day, Ben will play in the NHL and return the favor to another lucky child.
