The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed forward Corey Tropp to a one-year contract.
The Sabres are showing faith in Tropp, their 2007 third-round pick. He was regarded as a candidate to contend for a job in Buffalo last season before sustaining a serious injury to his left knee while playing in AHL Rochester.
Tropp was limited to playing in just six games, in which he had two goals and two assists. Overall, he has 21 goals and 45 assists in 109 career AHL games.
He's been called up to Buffalo five times, and has three goals and five assists in 34 NHL games.
