Red Wings' Larkin laughs at himself in 'D-Boss' video

Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin has provided plenty of thrills on the ice during his rookie season, but a video he made over five years ago is creating headlines of its own.
Through the magic of YouTube, a then-14-year-old Larkin drapes himself in the American flag and refers to himself as "D-Boss" while chatting with Evan Gizinski in his teammate's "dungeon" - I mean, the basement of his home in Utica, Mich. Larkin is only a few seconds into the video when he says he is "tearing it up all around the metro area, Detroit."
Fast forward to the present, Larkin has shown a sign of maturity by being able to laugh at himself. Via MLive:
"When we were 13 we were hoping that it would blow up and get a bunch of views. So it's fun. Looking back, yeah, it's a little bit embarrassing, it makes me cringe a little bit, but I was a kid, I was young."
Now a wise old man at the age of 19, Larkin is having quite a hearty laugh as well - as the video came out just over a week removed from his All-Star Game appearance. Larkin served as the lone rookie in that contest and the first from the Red Wings since Steve Yzerman.

Heck, Larkin made his mark on Music City one day before the game, setting the NHL record as the fastest skater in the history of the All-Star skills competition.
. @DetroitRedWings must have been practicing in the dungeon. ?? #Zboss https://t.co/5YCpGJGAyd

The 15th overall pick of the 2014 draft, Larkin's 18 goals and his 38 points are tops on the team while his plus-26 rating leads the league heading into Thursday's action.
#RedWings Zetterberg said he and several other veteran players are happy social media wasn't around when they were teenagers. #DBoss

So, who's laughing now?
