Red Wings G Gustavsson leaves game with dizziness

DETROIT (AP) Red Wings goalie Jonas Gustavsson has been replaced by Jimmy Howard against the Vancouver Canucks because of dizziness.

Gustavsson started the game and stopped all eight shots he faced in the first period Monday night, but didn't return to play in the second period.

The Red Wings wanted to rest Howard, who had played two straight games following a four-game absence after aggravating a left knee injury.

Gustavsson was able to start for the fifth time since a groin injury landed him on injured reserve for a second time this season.

He is one of three goalies on Sweden's Olympic team, along with Henrik Lundqvist of the New York Rangers and Jhonas Enroth of the Buffalo Sabres.
