Detroit Red Wings fans will say goodbye to their beloved Joe Louis Arena at the end of this season, as the team plans to move into a new, $627 million downtown arena next fall. The change will probably feel a little bittersweet for Wings fans; a new arena is shiny and exciting, but Joe Louis Arena has hosted its fair share of memorable moments and successful teams. There's a lot of history within those walls.

Plus, the team's new home will be called Little Caesar's Arena, which...woof. Certainly not as cool as "The Joe."

Thankfully, a couple of Wings fans have already given the new building a cooler nickname.

Taylor Oake and his father, Cyril, brainstormed some potential new monikers for the arena and eventually landed on "The DoughJoe" as a winner. It's a pretty wonderful idea, for a variety of reasons.

"It was kind of really a two-tier thing," Oake said, per MLive. "People seem to not really want to let go of the Joe, (and so) that part is really kind of self-explanatory in paying homage to all the wonderful years in Detroit and the 25 consecutive (seasons) making the playoffs."

"And then 'Dough' obviously being a little tip of the hat to Little Caesars and the future of the Red Wings. Together, combined as one word, and a dojo being kind of a training arena for warriors ... it kind of has that battleground, combat-warrior feel to it as well."

The father-son duo has already gotten to work on making the nickname stick, trademarking it and putting together a website and merchandise to push the initiative.

Who knows if the name will catch on and be embraced by the people of Detroit (or the Red Wings themselves) but one thing is for sure -- it's certainly better than Little Caesar's Arena.
