TORONTO (AP) Toronto police are asking for help to recover a Stanley Cup ring that was stolen last month.
Police say the 1947-1948 Toronto Maple Leafs championship ring belongs to former Leafs defenseman Philip Samis. Police say the ring was among jewelry and property taken from a home in northern Toronto on March 5.
Samis, who is from Edmonton, played five games for the Leafs in the 1947-48 playoffs and a pair of regular-season games in 1949-50.
