Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang suffered a concussion in Saturday's win over the Arizona Coyotes and is sidelined indefinitely, head coach Mike Johnston said Sunday morning.

Letang, who has a history of concussions and who suffered a stroke last year, was injured when he hit his head on the boards following a check from Coyotes forward Shane Doan in the second period of Saturday's game.

He was taken to the hospital but has been released.
