The New York Islanders are wasting Anthony Beauvillier’s talent in the press box. In order to see his potential Beauvillier has to play.
The New York Islanders are on a bit of a hot stretch. They have gone 5-1-1 since returning from the west coast against some pretty good opponents. Anthony Beauvillier has played in three of those games collecting one point in the process.
I want to see Jack Capuano put Beauvillier’s name in the lineup on a regular basis. Beauvillier has shown potential when he cracks the lineup, and I believe if he is playing night in and night out he will shine.
Capuano has a knack for interchanging Beauvillier and Ryan Strome. In reality, he should probably keep both of them in the lineup and scratch Alan Quine.
By keeping them both in the lineup they would just have to focus on their game. It can make a world of difference for players if they know they are going to be in the lineup and can focus on improving their game.
Quine will forever go down in Islander history because of his Game five double-overtime goal against the Panthers. But he’s only contributed three points in 18 games thus far. Keeping Beauvillier and Strome in the lineup consistently could give a boost to both their confidence and the Islander’s secondary scoring.

Looking at today’s practice combinations it looks like Cappy is up to his old tricks. It would appear Beauvillier would be back in the lineup for Tuesday against the Capitals. The question then becomes does he take the place of Strome or Quine.
Beauvillier has looked most comfortable at the center position so I do like that he’s back there. If the Isles want to stay hot they have to let Beauvillier develop and create offense for the secondary lines.
