Despite everyone in the world calling the move to the Barclays Center a failure, the New York Islanders have played extremely well at home.

They had 55 points on their home ice last year, which was their biggest total in 12 years. So what is it that makes the Islanders play so well at their new home?

The answer is really easy, it’s the same people in the new building. Remember in Field Of Dreams “If you build it they will come”.

The die-hards are making it out no matter the cost or the inconvenience. Is it a perfect home ice situation? No, but it’s their home and the Islanders make due.

The truth is this is a good team, who feeds of their home crowd. Tough to hate that. The Islanders continued their home success with a win last night. Nine of their next ten are at home so hopefully they continue their dominance on home ice.
