New York Islanders Daily: Dennis Seidenberg's Broken Jaw

By far the New York Islanders best free agent acquisition has been Dennis Seidenberg. It seems like he has suffered a broken jaw.
According to Arthur Staple sources the New York Islanders defenseman Dennis Seidenberg has in fact suffered a broken jaw. This news of course coming out on the Islanders off day yesterday.
Even when the Islanders don’t play a game they suffer a brutal loss. That just seems to be the way things are going right now for this team. Seidenberg has been a bright spot compared to Garth Snow‘s other free agent moves.
The Isles will find out today how long he will be out. Seidenberg, 35, signed a one-year, $1-million contract to play with the Islanders on the eve of the season.

It seems likely that the Islanders will call up Scotty Mayfield as Seidenberg’s replacement. Ryan Pulock is abut another two weeks a way from returning while Travis Hamonic is another month away.
It’s patch work but the Islanders are trying to piece something together to keep themselves a float.
