Ducks forward Joffrey Lupul has been activated by Anaheim from the long-term injury list after missing nearly a year following back surgery and a subsequent infection.
Lupul is eligible to play for the Ducks in Sunday night's home game against Phoenix.
Anaheim sent right wing Dan Sexton back to Syracuse of the AHL to clear a roster spot for Lupul.
The right wing hasn't played for the Ducks since Dec. 8, 2009. Lupul underwent surgery on a herniated disk in his back and then developed a serious blood infection that required several months of recovery.

Anaheim reacquired Lupul from Philadelphia in a trade for Chris Pronger in June 2009. He has scored at least 20 goals three times in his six NHL seasons.
