It's lit: KHL player lights stick on fire at All-Star shootout event

The hot new expression on social media these days? “IT’S LIT!”

At the KHL All-Star skills competition in Moscow, that phrase was literally true.

Former NHL player Linus Omark found a way to heat up the competition, lighting his hockey stick on fire in a shootout event. Once the flames started dancing on the end of his stick, Omark took off and made his way down the ice to attempt a shot. The image seemed like something straight out of a video game.

We have to give some points for creativity here, but the fire show did not net a goal in the shootout competition. Somehow, though, that didn’t matter. Omark actually won the competition without scoring a goal (how does that happen?), so we can only assume he was given some style points to gain an edge over the rest of the field.

Okay, NHL All-Stars. The bar has been raised. What are you going to do to top that?
