Girlfriend of Montreal's Alex Galchenyuk arrested for alleged domestic violence

The girlfriend of Montreal Canadiens forward Alex Galchenyuk, Chanel Leszczynski was arrested Sunday on domestic abuse charges, according to reports from multiple outlets in Montreal Tuesday. 

SportsNet reported that Galchenyuk is not pressing charges, but the case will be reviewed by the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions, as all matters of alleged domestic violence are sent to prosecutors for review. 

The 21-year-old Galchenyuk is in his fourth season with the Canadiens. He has 27 points (10 goals, 17 assists) in 43 games with Montreal this year. 

The Canadiens have not offered comment on the situation as of Tuesday morning. Galchenyuk was present at Montreal's outdoor practice on Monday.
