Edmonton Oilers: Caggiula, Davidson and Hendricks Traveling With Team

As the Edmonton Oilers look to escape a three-game skid, they continue to fight the injury bug. Fortunately, it looks like some of their hurt forwards are making a return soon.
According to head coach Todd McLellan, Drake Caggiula, Brandon Davidson and Matt Hendricks will travel with the team on their road trip. Their return dates are to be determined, but in the end, this is a good sign for Edmonton.

Caggiula
For right now, the Oilers are using Leon Draisaitl as their third-line centre. This pushed Zack Kassian to the second line, and Jesse Puljujarvi is on the third line wing. When Caggiula returns, he will take the rightful spot as the Oilers third-line winger. This gives Draisaitl the opportunity to play winger alongside Nugent-Hopkins or even Connor McDavid, and give Edmonton more depth to solve their scoring woes.

Hendricks
The addition of Hendricks will provide more depth on the wings, especially the bottom line. With Anton Lander struggling, and Anton Slepyshev not making too much of a difference, Hendricks can replace them, providing leadership and aggression on the ice. A physical presence that crashes the net, Hendricks provides a lot for Edmonton, and will definitely help with the offensive push.
Davidson
The young blueliner’s return will give the Oilers much-needed help on offense. With Davidson in the lineup, Edmonton will get back a trusted defenseman on the right side. Not to mention, Davidson will provide much needed depth and insurance on the backend.
With him back in the lineup, the Oilers can get more than they get from Eric Gryba, and have a defenseman who better looks after the puck and provides more of a push on the bottom-pairing.
