According to Jeff Blashill, 19-year-old rookie Dylan Larkin has made the Detroit Red Wings opening night roster.

Larkin is the youngest player to make the Red Wings roster since the 1999-00 season when Jiri Fischer played 52 games, according to Hockey Reference.

The Red Wings selected Larkin with the 15th overall pick in the 2014 draft. The forward played for the University of Michigan last season, finishing with 15 goals and 32 assists in 35 games as a freshman. Larkin was a B1G First-Team Allstar and the B1G Rookie of the Year. Larkin was also the leading scorer in the 2015 World Junior Championship, scoring five goals in five games.

The Red Wings play their season opener this Friday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The game will be shown on FOX Sports Detroit and FOX 2.
