Ducks release Mason Raymond, send Larsson back to Sweden

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) Left wing Mason Raymond has been released by the Anaheim Ducks after he declined to report to their top minor-league affiliate.
The Ducks on Thursday also sent 19-year-old defenseman Jacob Larsson back to his Swedish pro club.
Raymond cited family reasons in declining to go to the AHL's San Diego Gulls, and the Ducks say they support his decision. The 31-year-old NHL veteran signed with Anaheim in the offseason, but appeared in just four games for the Ducks.
The 19-year-old Larsson surprisingly earned a roster spot in training camp, making his NHL debut last month. He played in four games for the Ducks before getting sent to San Diego for four games.
Larsson was Anaheim's first-round pick in 2015. He will return to Frolunda in the Swedish Hockey League.
