New Jersey Devils defenseman Matt Corrente will be sidelined with a broken left hand.
The slumping Devils (2-7-1) disclosed the injury on Thursday, but did not say how long Corrente would be sidelined.
The young defenseman was involved in a lengthy fight with San Jose forward wing Ryane Clowe in the second period of the Sharks 5-2 win over New Jersey on Wednesday night.
New Jersey recalled defenseman Tyler Eckford from Albany (AHL) under emergency conditions.
