Only six games were played Thursday night around the CHL, London manhandled Guelph with a score of 8-2, Owen Sound beat the Niagara Ice Dogs by a score of 6-4, Peterborough got a big win over the 67's with a 5-4 overtime victory. Dylan Strome and the Erie Otters beat the Spitfires by a score of 4-2, Mississauga beat the Colts 3-2, and Sherbrooke squeaked out an overtime win over Chicoutimi by a score of 3-2.

London Gains Two More Important Points Heading Into Playoffs:
The Western Conference in the OHL is easily the most difficult, you have teams like London, Erie, Owen Sound, Windsor, Kitchener, and Sarnia. And speaking of the Knights, they currently sit third in the West one point behind Sault Ste. Marie and four points behind the Otters. So with yesterday's win put London much closer to the next two teams which is much needed since the Knights are much better starting the playoffs at home.
Peterborough Pushed Ottawa Back Even More:
The 67's currently sit outside a clinched playoff spot, and since they are only three points ahead of ninth place Niagara, they needed a big time win to open the gap up. But Peterborough wasn't having any of it and showed everyone why they sit first in the Eastern Conference when they beat Ottawa 5-4 in Overtime.
Two Powerhouse Teams Clash for an Important Game:
Both Erie and Windsor are some serious teams in the OHL, Windsor is hosting the Memorial Cup this year but they were still very active at the trade deadline in order to boost their team to be more competitive for this major championship. Erie, on the other hand, is lead by Dylan Strome, Taylor Raddysh, Alex DeBrincat and more just to name a few. So with these two currently in the playoff picture, the game came down to who had the more powerful team, and with Erie pulling off the 4-2 regulation win, they at least won the battle, for now.
Sherbrooke Upsets Chicoutimi:
The QMJHL is different than the OHL and WHL, those two organizations have two conferences and four divisions. The QMJHL on the other hand only has one conference and no divisions. This makes getting into the playoffs a little more tricky. And with Chicoutimi already in the picture and Sherbrooke sitting well outside of the picture, most would think the Sagueneens would have pulled off the win, but that didn't happen as the Phoenix were able to upset the club with a 3-2 overtime win. Could this loss hold Chicoutimi where they are now and allow other teams to leapfrog them? we'll have to see when tonight's games are over.
