Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- The Win Unseen

Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks took to the ice on Friday night during the Chicago Cubs first home game at Wrigley Field in 71 years, and guess what the Chicago Blackhawks skated away with a 3-2 overtime win.
The Chicago Blackhawks won a game on Friday night that probably not too many fans were watching, and to be honest if you didn’t turn the game on until late in the third period you probably would have turned it off somewhere in the middle.
The Hawks biggest bug a boo this season has been the penalty kill, and guess what, there it was rising it’s ugly head once again in the first period. The Chicago Blackhawks penalty kill has been dreadful, but the Hawks were able to turn away the last three tries which is a step in the right direction.
The powerplay has been just as bad so with the Chicago Blackhawks trailing late in the game, the Hawks got a 4 minute powerplay and were able to cash in for the second time of the contest and tie the game when both Richard Panik and Marian Hossa looked to knock in the puck with Hossa picking up goal #501.
The overtime was almost all Chicago Blackhawks with Artem Anisimov knocking in the game winning goal. This is the type of game that this Chicago Blackhawks version needs to win which is a game that is about to be a loss and it turns into a 2 points. A win is a win and that is something this team can build on this early in the season.
