Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- So Much For That

Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks didn’t make the trade that was supposed to be a done deal, and low and behold it was the rival St. Louis Blues who pulled the trigger for Nail Yakupov.
The Chicago Blackhawks were believed to be ready to trade for the lost 1st round draft pick Nail Yakupov if you believed the rumor mill on Thursday, but I think most Hawks fans almost had a sigh of relief that they didn’t end up making a move to get Yakupov.
Let’s really think about it, the one person that wouldn’t have liked him on the roster is Joel Quenneville which likes puck possession, confidence and speed and Yakupov only has one of those characteristics and oh by the way he doesn’t play defense.
So that being said the big winner in this non-trade has to be the current Chicago Blackhawks prospects who look to be getting one more player on the active roster.
Of course the question has to be which guys stay and which guys go, and the thing is the final Chicago Blackhawks preseason game could be the measuring stick for the Final Exam.
The good news is that the final Chicago Blackhawks preseason game is tonight which of course means that opening night is right around the corner. The other night all the young Blackhawks prospects looked great, the question will be who can carry it over to tonight’s contest.
