Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Make That Five
Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks headed to Big D to face the Dallas Stars, and in the end they skated away with a 3-2 win on the road.
One thing is for sure, the third period felt like a playoff game with the Dallas Stars throwing everything at Corey Crawford and the Chicago Blackhawks defense, but in the end the Hawks were able to skate away with their 5th straight victory.
If you were watching the keys to the game on the Dallas side by the Stars announcers, their #1 key to the game was to score on the powerplay because the Chicago Blackhawks Penalty Kill was their boat anchor. Well, it really has been, but the Hawks penalty kill now has over 14 straight kills including the final 1:52 of regulation.
As a Chicago Blackhawks fan, you have to like the fact that everyone is contributing including the kids, The Ryan Hartman goal was a pretty sweet shot after Tyler Motte rung one off the pipe with a delayed penalty coming. Dennis Rasmussen also has been a key to the new and improved Chicago Blackhawks penalty kill.
Of course it wouldn’t be a fun Chicago Blackhawks hockey game if there wasn’t a great passing play that involved Patrick Kane, but this time it was Artem Anisimov feeding Patrick Kane on the powerplay for the eventual game winning goal. The Chicago Blackhawks played with some real purpose in the second period, and it ended up being the difference in the game.
The real question heading into tomorrow’s rematch against the Dallas Stars is who will sit with Andrew DesJardins returning to the lineup Sunday night. One would guess it’s a youngster, but you never know with Joel Quenneville behind the bench.
