Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Blackhawks season is one day away, and we are all set to cover them for another exciting season here on Blackhawk Up.

The Chicago Blackhawks haven’t played a real game since April 25th, but they are now one day away from their first game day since that Game #7 loss to the same St. Louis Blues team that they will be facing off against on Wednesday night.

Last night though was an all-nighter watching the Chicago Cubs play a thrilling extra inning game which of course started late because the game was on the West Coast.

The game gave me plenty of flashbacks of the Chicago Blackhawks in the playoffs the past few years with games going past regulation and into the early morning hours meaning tons of coffee the next morning. The only saving grace for me this week is that I’m on vacation this week unlike weeks during the Blackhawks playoff run.

The game reminded me of exciting overtime game of the past by the Blackhawks with late second heroics and plays going to video review.  It had everything which really has me excited about the Blackhawks season even if they didn’t keep Alexandre Fortin on the roster.

There will be plenty of youth on the roster to start the season, and the Hawks will need one of them to really step up so that Joel Quenneville will not mess with his familiar lines including the Patrick Kane line with the Bread man and Artem Anisimov.

It all starts tomorrow night, and it couldn’t start too soon!!
